- Isolate the absolute value using inverse operations.
- Write a compound sentence with "OR".
- Sentence 1 – is the expression inside the absolute value set equal to the value of the right side.
- Sentence 2 – is the expression inside the absolute value set equal to the opposite of the right side.
- Solve each sentence (equation) for the variable.
- Check your solutions where the absolute value is isolated.
- The answer is the number(s) that make true statements when checked.
