M & M's

1. Open your bag of M & M’s and count the number of each color in your bag. Enter this data into the table below.



2. Figure out what percent of your bag is made up of each color. Enter this data into the table below.



3. In order to make a circle graph of your data, you must find the central angle that corresponds to the percentage of each color. To do this, you multiply the percentage for each color by the number of degrees in a circle (360º). Enter this table into the table below.



4. Using the circle drawn below, make a circle graph of your data. Start with the radius that is already drawn for you, and measure the central angle for the brown M & M’s. Draw the radius  needed to make a sector with that angle measure. Use this new radius to measure the central angle for the yellow M&M’s, draw the sector, and work your way around the circle until you  have a sector drawn for each color. Make sure your graph has a title, includes the colors, and the percentage for each color.
